Long Time Visitor New Member
by LogansRun injust wanted to say hello, i have been visiting this site for a very long time and i feel like i know so many of you already, now you can get to know me but for now i'm fading so i cant give my complete story.
i'm single but have "hardcore" siblings in the religion, thankfully i do have family who never expressed interest in the jws.
i really checked out years ago from to much mental abuse and no recognition for all that i gave to this organization.

But where else should we go? Can you answer this question?
by purrpurr inhaving watched many jc youtube videos one question that gets asked is "where else would you go?".
in other words if not jehovah's witnesses then what other religion or organisation would you go to?.
it's one that i have trouble answering, what would you say?.

I would ask him if he is aware that groups I have come across such as the Mormons, the moonies and the scientologists use exactly the same expression.
I would ask him if he is aware that leading psychologists believe that such groups slowly condition their members to feel afraid of the outside world and use this expression as a thought stopping mechanism, to train the minds of their followers to resist any critism of the group.
I would ask him if he was aware that the word 'organisation' doesn't appear anywhere in the bible and that the idea that you can only serve God through an organisation isn't based on scripture.
I would ask him if its sensible to believe that the only channel of communication between God and men would be a watchtower organisation that is responsible for hundreds of failed prophercy predictions, far more than other religions.
I would ask him why some of Satan's organizations have a far better record of dealing with child sexual abuse than Jehovah's organization.

Study article: "Go, and Make Disciples.." is a hot mess
by Sanchy inso i hooked into meeting via phone this week to listen in and was shocked at the absurdities mentioned in the study article (2016 may watchtower: "go,..and make disciples of people of all the nations").
the answer is obvious—only jehovah’s witnesses.
the answer the missionary priest gave in no way proves that jws are the only ones "preaching the good news".

When I was begining to wake up to ttatt it was difficult to ignore the idea that the jw's were carrying out the world wide preaching work. But I'd never thought to ask HOW are they carrying out the worldwide preaching work? Was it a result of holy spirit? Giving power beyond what is normal? Or had I witnessed perfectly decent brothers push themselves to the point of burnout? Were brothers motivated to preach from the heart? or were they worried what the elders monitoring them would think of their report? -futher it became clear to me that KM article were littered with emotional blackmail, guilt trips and scaremongering tactics to squeeze every last drop out of the slaves...urr I mean publishers. So for me one of the key things any lurkers need to ask is 'is HOW the jw's getting their preaching accomplished ethical?'

£227bn UK exports to EU
£288bn UK imports from EU
It isn't in anyone's interest to tax imports. The UK will not likely get free trade deal, but it'll get a good deal that reflects the above. The markets seem to think so, the FTSE 100 is already above last Thursday's levels.

One Thing I Don't Get About Brexit
by JW_Rogue inhow did such a weighty decision get put directly in the hands on the average citizen?
and with only a simple majority required?
in the usa the biggest thing that people vote on directly is city building projects or infrastructure.

Bohm that is exactly what the commission does, it creates binding regulations and it determines all legislative proposals. But you are wrong it is not 'democratically' elected by the 'people'. Effectively the people's elected representatives do not get any determination on policy.

The EU commission is not democratically elected yet i believe it has the power to create regulations which are automatically legally binding on each EU member nation. In addition the commision alone determines all policy proposals- legislation.

This could well be a case of somebody having access to your device, could automatic log in be set? Internet history stored? I find it highly unlikely a snooper would spot you out of hundreds\ thousands of other members of this forum.

"how awful it must be to be dying as an apostate!"
by purrpurr ini heard today about a former jw/now apostate who is dying in hospital.
this information was accompanied by the comment of "wouldn't be awful to be lying there in hospital, dying as an apostate!

JWs on the whole simply don't understand that its possible to find the bravery to accept the reality of human mortality, and to leave behind their delusional live forever fantasy land.
